As Malaysia is facing new challenges in living conditions, the design ought to articulate new ways of thinking, living and working. Present day technology has paved new possibilities of living styles. It is therefore pertinent issues in order to create an overall spectrum of conducive living globally.

Our spectrum of responsibilities includes supervision of postgraduate studies in the field of art and design, organizing international and national conferences that act as platforms for discussion on contemporary issues. We endeavor to increase the momentum for fundamental research activities in tangent with good design principles.

Aim & Objectives

The overall aim of NDC is to improve and enhance the quality of life in all aspects of design, with emphasis to increase the awareness of all involved quarters, on the importance of design towards nation building. The ultimate goal of the National Design Centre is the direction that all involved parties is heading, towards a conducive mode of living, based on design excellence.

To transform NDC into a centre of excellence for innovative design with national identity that acts as a point of reference for the global community.

Mission

• To help promote and upgrade the current stance of the national design reputation, and thus elevating them into a recognized status which is of reputed of international standing capable of championing the competitive global design market.
• To propel the design awareness from policy maker to the mundane grass roots within the society and enhance the role of art and design via strategic design excellence, and function as a key factor in improving the quality of life in developing the nation vision.
